2017 – 5th March: Eugene Furlong visited the graves of Edward and Ann Bransfield, Extra-Mural Cemetery, Brighton
Eugene Furlong visited the graves of Edward & Ann Bransfield who were buried at the Extra-Mural Cemetery, Brighton where much invaluable information about Edward’s burial were offered by staff members.
2017 – 30th January: Edward Bransfield Day
The first gathering took place to mark the anniversary of Bransfield’s discovery at Jacko’s of Ballinacurra. Hopes are to make this a annual event known as Edward Bransfield Day.

2017 – 17th January: Liam O’Riordan Presentation, ‘World Ship Society'(Cobh Branch), Commodore Hotel, Cobh
Liam O’Riordan gave a presentation about Edward Bransfield to the Cobh Branch of the ‘World Ship Society’ held the Commodore Hotel Cobh.
2016 – 18th November: Jim Wilson Presentation, O’Meara’s Pub, Main Street, Ballinacurra
Jim Wilson gave a presentation about Edward Bransfield at the premier of a short armature film production (12 minutes) based loosely on his later years of his life created by a group known as the Midleton Monday Night Club over the previous three years. This even took place at O’Meara’s Pub, Main Street, Ballinacurra.
2016 – 25th October: Michael Smith Presentation, Midleton Park Hotel
Michael Smith gave a presentationin about Edward Bransfield the Midleton Park Hotel. This event was used to launch our project.
2015 – 21st November: Remembering Edward Bransfield Facebook Group Created
Remembering Edward Bransfield Facebook group was setup. Around the same time Jim Wilson and Eugene Furlong were talking about Antarctica. Both agreed that Edward Bransfield more than deserved a lot more recognition and maybe a monument. Contacts were made and our idea blossomed.
